As a Manager Business Development you support the execution of the adidas strategy and principles by managing key sales initiatives as well as cross-functional projects; and by being an active team member in cross-functional teams.
Key Accountabilities
  • Support Senior Director and Director Business Development in driving the Global Sales Agenda (strategy, major projects and initiatives)
  • Update the management team regarding status & consequences of individual projects in a consistent and effective manner
  • Coordinate/support collaborative global projects, process improvements, new tools’ implementation and best-practice sharing that are in alignment with the strategies and priorities of the adidas Global Sales organisation.
  • Develop and implement procedures for tracking progress of all ongoing projects on global and local level
  • Grow, establish, and nurture global BD network to drive consistency and best practice sharing
  • Compare and contrast internal and external data points in a compelling way; provide consistently relevant and accurate insight and analysis to all stakeholders
  • Practice standard project management approach and effective communication methodology
  • Update the management team regarding status and implications of individual projects in a consistent and effective manner
  • Build a network acting as a focal point for local markets, global functions and other key support functions to ensure identification of relevant projects
  • Infuse outside in Information into the team to inform strategic thinking in team
  • Establish collaborative partnership with Global Sales and Business Development & HO team members, Global Sales Leadership

Knowledge, Capabilities and Experience
  • Strong methodological skills (e.g. business planning, strategic development, project management)
  • Strong functional skills (e.g. Operations, Sales, Finance, Digital)
  • Strong level of commercial awareness and business acumen
  • Adequate knowledge of the adidas Group business along with significant industry experience
  • Good interpersonal skills (e.g. communication, negotiation)
  • Mental flexibility, initiative, determination and results orientation
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is a must. Skills and abilities in another language are a benefit

  • Degree in business ideally with focus on Sales/Marketing/Finance
  • Business: minimum 3+ years
  • Functional: minimum 2+ years in the sporting goods or comparable industry
  • Leadership: first experience of project lead responsibility
  • Cross-functional experience ideally with sales / marketing / finance / operations
  • Industry: sporting goods / retail / consumer goods / consulting
