Firmware Senior Principal Engineer (I9)

We lead and deliver the analysis, design, programming, debugging, troubleshooting or modification of software for firmware applications. Our team oversees programming activities involving analog and digital hardware as well as software operating systems. We also influence product development at all stages. What you’ll achieve
As a Firmware Senior Principal Engineer, you will work with an experienced team of engineers focused on chipset enablement and cutting edge technologies in the Dell Core BIOS group. You will apply skills and experience across the full cycle of software development (specification development and review, debug and validation) to enable features and capabilities on platforms focusing on firmware products supported by the client platforms. This position is in the Client Platform Software Engineering.
Work with a global team to deliver the best in class firmware.
Work with BIOS System Engineers, Silicon Partners, Platform teams, Development Leads, and team members on design, development, debug, of firmware components into the Dell UEFI pre-boot BIOS environment.
Technical understanding of common UEFI FW development and architecture.
Responsibilities may include but not be limited to: Understand UEFI FW feature requirements, architecture and design UEFI FW development mainly in C language, Unit Tests development, UEFI FW code, debugging, and UEFI FW integration with other HW and SW platform components, like CPU, PCH, FW, OS etc.
Responsibilities may include working with external partners and internal Dell technology, marketing, and other engineering teams.
Follow the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

BIOS UEFI based firmware experience
Ability to communicate architectural plans and concepts in both verbal and written forms.
Ability to take ownership of overall UEFI platform design throughout the platform lifecycle.
Ability and desire to mentor junior engineers.
Qualified candidates must have good software design and debug skills and be able to produce documentation related to software design at both a high and low level.
Candidates should enjoy working in a fast moving, team-oriented environment.
Education and Experience:
12+ years experience in a professional role with a Bachelor’s degree; or
- 8+ years with a Master’s degree; or
5+ years with a PhD; or
- equivalent experience
