Introduction
Ready to re-imagine the product management role? At IBM, as an Offering Manager, you are responsible for the full lifecycle of an offering: from validating need to determining the business model and defining the solution requirements. Going beyond the traditional focus of timetables and budgets, you use your keen insights into what customers want in their own business plan - and work across disciplines to build the best solutions to a problem. If being the CEO of your offering excites you, consider an offering management career at IBM.
Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM Cloud for SAP is looking for a new offering manager to add to our growing organization. This position will be focused on the development and deployment of new IaaS products and offerings focused on running production SAP ERP workloads in IBM Cloud. This offering manager will be responsible for implementing the SAP certification programs run by IBM Cloud, as well as how we bring those products to market, integrate them with other solutions, and work with partners across the globe to bring them to our joint clients. Successful candidates will have deep existing understanding of the existing complexities of running workloads in the cloud, and have solutions on how to better engineer and deploy cloud products to support enterprise workloads – we’re not looking at LAMP stacks, we’re looking at highly complex, highly customized enterprise landscapes with tens to hundreds of individual servers. Offering Managers lead the charge to develop a deep understanding of market dynamics, develop robust business plans, and enable offering and Go To Market (GTM) readiness for features and functionality of the product. They facilitate cross-discipline resource deployment and prioritization, and work with their peers, development leads, and engineering to lead decisions and activities across divisions and with external stakeholders. They are accountable for key outcome-based metrics, including usage and user experience, market performance, sales results, and operational metrics.
  • They use internal and external sources to develop market Points of View (POV), using primary (e.g. customers, prospects) and secondary research to maintain a robust outside-in perspective on market requirements.
  • They analyze research on the competitive landscape and market influencers (e.g. capabilities, GTM strategies), and articulate market dynamics to the broader team.
  • They gather market requirements to support design and validation of offering, and recommend differentiation on strategy and value proposition.
  • They demonstrate offering capabilities and confirm stakeholder validation (e.g. beta programs), analyzing feedback to identify and address gaps or opportunities.
  • They lead the translation of prioritized requirements to development plans for a differentiated offering. Evaluates digital readiness. Collaborates with development leaders and others to create offering releases and align offering design with business objectives. May help lead build/buy/partner decisions for offerings/features.
  • They support development of offering business plans (e.g. financial/resource capacity forecasting) as well as assist their supervisor in defining effective routes to market, identifying key channels and potential gaps. They create materials on pre- and post-launch direction and priorities for each discipline, and recommend key performance metrics.IBM Cloud for SAP is looking for a new offering manager to add to our growing organization.
