Financial Program Lead – Azure Global Staff function

The Azure Global Engineering Team is at the center of this mission, building hyperscale cloud infrastructure around the world to support commercial industry and government adopt cloud for their most complex workloads.
To support our mission and strategy, Azure Global Office of the Corporate Vice President (CVP) is looking for a seasoned business professional to lead all our financial business operations for the organization. This leadership role reports to the Chief of Staff and serves as the trusted partner to the Azure Global extended Leadership Team – responsible for all areas related to managing policy, headcount, budget– in short, be our financial officer. The individual is expected to react to the ongoing needs of our organizational strategy, enabling the business to operate efficiently end-to-end and identify new ways to unblock a variety of strategic initiatives across the team. Additionally, the role will be heavily integrated with and cognizant of the business rhythms across Finance teams, product groups, field in addition to the Azure office. Responsibilities

The individual will lead a team that is responsible for traditional fiscal management of resources, budget and policy, yes. Success is measured through a positive bottom line, meeting financial targets and accountability, yes. The individual is expected driving clarity and leadership across a community of business managers and related functions across Azure Global, yes.
This role differentiates from others based on managing a set of GC (Global Contractor) projects and alternative funding models across Azure, CA&I, and broader Microsoft. In this function, the lead will govern investments asks, unblock investments and manage key partnerships for Vanguard, airgapped resources, and Sovereign expansion. This requires the successful hire to deeply understand the organizational priorities and strategy. The individual must additionally support the organization in the fiscal operationalization of new products and services pushing bounds in identifying assets and alternative funding models to unblock geo expansion, infrastructure, and investments across commercial or mission industries.
This role requires a self-motivated individual, comfortable operating in a high volume and fast-paced environment, and one that builds strong relationships with VP-level executive leaders across Azure. The individual must work well in a team, in ways that drive impactful results, and upholds the team’s philosophy to operate with the highest levels of integrity and trust. It requires an attention to detail and confidence with financial data and taxonomy. This will require showing the utmost discretion in the management of confidential corporate information. Qualifications
  • Deep understanding of Microsoft’s rhythm and processes, including key Azure operating mechanisms (i.e. people, OKRs, customer insights, etc.)
  • 8+ years of industry experience in managing programs, or projects – financial experience is a plus
  • Power user of SharePoint, OneNote, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and analytics tools (i.e. PowerBI, etc.), as well as communication technologies
  • Customer-, Market-, Field-focused – a strong desire to serve and make others successful
  • Excellent skills in all aspects of planning, cross-group collaboration, communications, analytical capabilities and attention to detail
  • Passion and proven record for execution with measurable results – focused on delivering impact
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, innovation, and the ability to motivate, inspire and lead cross group/functional teams, with a high degree of independence and success
  • Ability to work successfully across a complex, highly-matrixed environment
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, navigate uncertain situations and drive for clarity
  • Seasoned business professional with multi-disciplinary experience, who has the aspiration and potential to grow as a broad business leader
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business, engineering or science discipline; master’s degree preferred
