The role of Senior Director – Surface Commercial GTM will be leading a team defining the go-to-market strategy for the commercial portfolio of Surface for Business devices, driving demand generation for Surface with commercial and educational organizations, supporting sales enablement and readiness for specialist communities, architecting segment strategies to drive growth in Enterprise and SMC, and managing channel and field performance for Surface.
You’ll be in an exciting role partnering with engineering and sales & marketing teams to achieve Surface Commercial’s goals and make Surface the best devices for Modern Workplace and Modern Classroom. Delivering success includes attracting and growing talent while attaining revenue, GM, and unit targets for Surface Commercial - making Surface for Business the portfolio of choice for businesses and educational institutions looking for a modern experience.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team of 20+ marketers, including people managers, as well as a dotted-line team of field leads
  • Generate demand for Surface’s commercial portfolio, including web, social, GEP, and event strategy
  • Drive sales and enablement and readiness for field communities
  • Drive growth in Enterprise, Public Sector, EDU, and SMB
  • Drive channel and field performance to achieve billed revenue, GM, and unit targets
  • Partner with GTM peers to gain a deep understand of product benefits, features and scenarios and maintain ongoing relationship with engineering to ensure voice of the customer in the roadmap
  • Shape, build, and represent Surface Commercial strategy – including in front of senior executives, partners, customers, as well as PR/AR
Qualifications
  • 15 years of marketing experience working on commercial software and/or devices (in product marketing, channel development, partnerships/business development, or program management)
  • B.S./B.A. degree preferred or equivelent experience
  • Proven people leadership/team management skills
  • Passion for devices with an understanding of Microsoft products and commercial organization
  • A profound sense of accountability is absolutely required alongside the ability to influence, inspire internal and external teams and organizations.
  • Be able to think creatively about customer/business problems and generate innovative solutions
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and working across complex organizations
  • Exceptional organizational, planning, and project/program management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must be flexible and solution-oriented with excellent time management skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
