About the Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join the Activation Applied Research team at Oracle Advertising. Focus for this team: evaluate business outcomes that customers can achieve by using Oracle Advertising products; recommend innovations, product variants, positioning, improvements; generate and test hypotheses to answer business questions; develop best practices; establish proof points. This role allows for the opportunity to combine world-class data, data science, and storytelling.
Oracle Advertising products are made possible because of massive data sets, high engineering standards, and advanced data science. As a Senior Data Scientist within the Activation Applied Research team, you will lead applied research projects and communicate findings to inform product development strategy. To be successful in this role you must: apply advanced statistical methods; create new methods, solutions, and insights, and demonstrate their value.
  • Apply advanced statistical methods to evaluate Oracle Advertising products.
  • Conduct applied research to answer key internal questions that help inform and accelerate product development efforts.
  • Code methods using Big Data tools/languages.
  • MS/PhD in Statistics or related field emphasizing superior statistical skills.
  • Programming experience, preferably Python.
  • Exposure to big data platforms such as AWS, OCI, Qubole, etc.
  • Experience accessing databases for analysis.
  • Superior communication, storytelling with data.

Designs, develops and programs methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured, diverse “big data� sources to generate actionable insights and solutions for client services and product enhancement.
Interacts with product and service teams to identify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments. Develops and codes software programs, algorithms and automated processes to cleanse, integrate and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources. Identifies meaningful insights from large data and metadata sources; interprets and communicates insights and findings from analysis and experiments to product, service, and business managers.
Job duties are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. May have project lead role. 5 years relevant work experience. BS/BA preferred.
