Global Security Coordination Operator - Early in Career

Role:
The Global Security Coordination Center (GSCC) Operator will actively monitor multiple physical security systems, including access control and CCTV, to identify risks and threats to Splunk employees, assets, and executives. You will monitor news events and intelligence sources to serve as the first line of defense for Splunk Safety and Security. You will notify appropriate partners of identified risks & threats and assist with incident coordination and documentation. You will use Splunk’s emergency mass notification system to account for Splunkers during or after a security incident and serve as the one-stop shop for all Splunk security questions and concerns. You will support all Splunk locations globally and collaborate with other elements of Splunk Safety & Security, including Risk Intelligence, Health & Safety, and Security Operations, to help keep Splunkers safe at work and during business travel.
Responsibilities:
  • Actively monitor alarms and video equipment to include door alarms, duress buttons, intercoms, and CCTV
  • Respond to Splunker requests for security assistance and identify/notify the appropriate partner to complete the request
  • Provide timely notification to partners of potential security threats
  • Participate in Safety & Security incident response by notifying the incident commander, creating a forum for all partners to communicate, providing timely incident updates, and documenting the incident in the system of record
  • Work with other departments and partners (such as Splunk Global Security, Facilities, Legal, HR, and IT) to resolve security threats or incidents
  • Assist the IT department with coordinating the response to P1 incidents
  • Assist Splunk Global Security with coordinating the response to incidents
  • Assist Splunk travelers who encounter issues while on business travel (medical, lost/stolen property, etc.)
  • Assist with badge activation and deactivation for employees, contractors, and vendors
Requirements:
  • Minimum 1 year demonstrated experience in a security role
  • Demonstrated ability to write clearly and concisely
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks
  • Strong customer service and social skills and ability to collaborate across business units to accomplish assigned tasks
  • Demonstrated experience working in a diverse, complex, and dynamic environment with competing demands
  • Great demeanor and partner-facing demeanor, including being reliable, effective, collaborative, and efficient
