The Role
The Project Manager, Energy Training, Analysis will oversee the formal intake process and project management for training initiatives within Tesla Energy business units and when department-level strategic initiatives arise. This includes business analysis, consultation, and business partner relationship management. This individual will leverage their strategic mindset to ensure training is working most efficiently, productively interfacing with the business, and optimizing impact throughout the project lifecycle. They will have experience with adult learning theory and a strong project management background. Using tools and consultative strategies, they will differentiate symptoms of a business challenge from the root-cause. This role will enable alignment, efficiency, and measurable improvements to new and existing programs, processes, and systems strengthening trainings internal workflow and strategic partnership with the business.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with team to establish and scale project management practices across Energy Training utilized across multiple geographies (NAM, EMEA, APAC)
Champion the ADDIE process and build efficiencies across vertical and horizonal workstreams
Develop and maintain relationships with cross-functional business partners internal and external to training
Support workflow management, role governance, issue structure/metadata, and other functions within project management tool
Manage and drive strategic and process focused initiatives that support Energy Trainings infrastructure
Manage incoming training requests, prioritization, and project management for a business division within Tesla Energy
Gather/curate necessary qualitative and quantitative data to conduct a thorough training analysis
Build business cases and justifications for training intervention that illustrate when training is or is not the right solution to meet a business need
Lead gap and root-cause analysis with business partners
Consult with business to outline intended outcomes and collect preliminary information and assets to move justified projects forward
Develop and own the analysis process and complex workflows, planning across multiple delivery teams and against aggressive timelines
Support efforts to secure stakeholder buy-in and alignment throughout all stages of the ADDIE process
Ensure projects adhere to defined scope, budget, schedule, and other project boundaries
Manage project risks, develop contingency plans, and actively communicate updates and changes to all relevant stakeholders
Keep project management tool updated and leverage to provide visibility of strategy, timelines, communication, training, and success metrics
Build and maintain project management dashboards and roadmaps relevant to various levels of leadership and key stakeholders
Track project progress and follow-up with accountable parties
Identify project/initiative KPIs and track progress to gauge effectiveness of development practices
Conduct post project/program evaluations in partnership with evaluation team, including capturing relevant, timely feedback and incorporating successes and areas for improvement into future project iterations
Lead ongoing training awareness/alignment efforts in partnership with primary business division stakeholders and audiences
Gather feedback and develop process improvement recommendations for optimal training outcomes
Provide insights and feedback to instructional design on learning solution recommendations
Identify project management industry resources and emerging trends for ongoing consideration to push new thinking and approaches
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, project management, training, or a related field required
Master’s Degree in business, project management, training, or a related field preferred
3+ years experience in a consultation role, preferably in the context of training
3+ years experience in a project management role
PMP Certification preferred
Exposure to JIRA project management platform preferred
Understanding of adult learning theory including ADDIE process and Kirkpatrick’s Levels of Learning Evaluation
Compelling written and verbal communication skills
Strong presentation skills to audiences comprised of all levels of leadership
Highly motivated, self-starter able to work autonomously and drive the work they own forward effectively
Ability to work in a fast paced, ambiguous environment managing multiple projects, priorities, and urgent issues simultaneously
Skills in coaching, providing feedback, and motivating team members
