Role
Tesla has an outstanding opportunity available for a Sr. Fire Response Specialist to join the team at our Lathrop, CA location. The Sr. Fire Response Specialist is expected to safely minimize losses associated with fire, support emergency response operations, coordinate maintenance of fire protection systems, and coordinate life safety training. The Fire Response Supervisor has the responsibility for motivating, leading, and promoting the development and training of fire response members and Tesla employees. The Sr. Fire Response Specialist is also responsible for prioritizing and completing tasks associated with non-emergency response activities such as fire prevention, pre-fire planning, fire safety education, and on-shift training activities.
Responsibilities
  • Attend training sessions as required by Tesla, read and understand assigned materials related to emergency medical care, firefighting and fire prevention.
  • Respond to emergency calls (HAZMAT, fire, medical)
  • Performs general inspection, testing, and maintenance on life safety and emergency response equipment.
  • Accurately maintain and complete all required documentation.
  • Identify, track and help mitigate life safety concerns.
  • Ensure responding personnel are appropriately dressed, adequately trained, and properly briefed to insure the rapid, efficient, and effective mitigation of incidents.
  • Directs and participates in firefighting equipment selection and ventilation operations during fire scenarios.
  • Provide training to team members or Tesla employees.
  • Studies the location of building layout, fire hydrants, sprinkler systems, alarm systems and Knox boxes.
  • Assists fire prevention with inspections of the facility, participate in pre-fire planning and become familiar with floor plans, types of construction and hazards associated with the facility.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years old and have High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 5-10 years’ experience as a structural or industrial firefighter with Firefighter I and/or II certifications
  • Current EMTB or Paramedic certification.
  • Hazardous Materials Operations level with decon preferred.
  • Must be comfortable in confined spaces and wearing a SCBA.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 75lbs or more with assistance.
  • Valid Class C Drivers License preferred.
  • Must be able to initially and annually pass a physical test similar to the CPAT.
  • Must complete medical questionnaire.
  • Industrial Firefighting certification preferred.
  • Ability to utilize emergency medical equipment in a proficient manner, communicate concisely, clearly, and effectively in both written and verbal form.
  • Ability to act in accordance with Tesla requirements as well as State and Federal laws, regulations, operational procedures, policies and statutes.
  • Incident Command System knowledge and experience is required.
  • Ability to evaluate complex emergency situations and understand appropriate fire strategies and tactics to minimize losses.
  • Must understand principles of mechanics, basic fire hydraulics, and fundamental math.
  • Technical rescue response and operation knowledge preferred.
